p.m. >> good evening. hello. i am frank somerville. >> and i am julie haener. >> they are accused of using city computers to share porn and gamble. ktvu's eric rasmussen talked with mayor ed lee today about who is involved and the punishment. eric? >> reporter: from suspensions to firing in this case. mayor ed lee says he would like the city to look at how it monitors the use of the internet and technology. some workers at this yard and another division could be looking for new jobs. >> reporter: at this p.u.c. yard workers knew why we were there. >> heard about it. >> reporter: one of the place wheres employees are suspected of using city computers to

share pornography and online gambling. >> we are taking this very seriously. >> the allegations are disturbing. it is misuse of property for all the wrong reasons. >> doug: mayor ed lee wants an investigation finished soon and officials say t be complete in a week. for months they have been investigating a tip that they have been sending and receiving pornographic images on the job. >> looking into what sites, documenting what types of photographs. >> reporter: while investigators don't suspect anything criminal the activity would be a violation of city policy and could lead to punishment. >> anytime you get an allegation like this you have to take the appropriate action to send a message it is not okay. >> reporter: the public utilities commission says they will remain on the job till the

investigation is complete. they will have a chance to appeal their case physical discipline is handed down. eric rasmussen, ktvu channel 2 news. we have developing news where a bank robbery suspect is held up in a hotel room. a s.w.a.t. team is on the scene. the person is suspect offend robbing a bank of the west earlier in the day. his partner already surrendered to authorities. a 14-year-old boy was hurt today after he was hit by a car while crossing a street. he was struck at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon in a crosswalk. the boy was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital and then to children's hospital. officials haven't released his condition. police say the driver stopped and cooperating with investigators. police are asking for your help tonight in identifying a

man who tried to rob a bank. tates released this video -- authorities released this surveillance video today. he was that bank of america at 3:45 p.m. last friday afternoon. he demanded cash. and when the teller refused the robber ran away. police arrested a 22-year- old woman after they say she robbed an old navy store and threatened a security guard with a knife and she had her four-year-old son with her last night. police also arrested another woman who was driving a get away car. an employee identified the women as suspects saturday. breaking news right now from san francisco that we want to show you. there is a situation here. we are working to determine

shop opening and selling guns turned from contentious to dangerous. ktvu's robert handa is live where another heated discussion is expected tonight. robert? >> reporter: well, in less than an hour and down these stairs there will be a continuation of a meeting that started last monday that ended with no decision and a death threat. >> reporter: the small sports shop on university avenue draws attention. in an hour another emotional public hearing is spected as they argue whether -- expected as they argue whether guns should be allowed. >> it is the same weapons that were used in the newtown shootings. >> the owner followed all the guidelines for weapons needed to open this shop, including

informing city officials. he got a death threat after last monday's meeting. he declined to discuss details today siting the police investigation. many people demended him -- defended him. >> i believe good people know how to use guns the right way. bad people will always get a hold of guns. >> reporter: many people believe the controversy means there won't be more than one gun shop. >> it is a small town. i think if someone else comes in now there will be enough opposition. >> reporter: he says tonight's meeting reflects a growing number of communities trying to grasp the picture of gun control. >> this should give them some thought of reviewing their process, looking at the issue of sales of guns. >> reporter: again that review and how it impacts his future

a collision. a train hit a tractor-trailer crossing the traction. the collision happened about 2:30 p.m. news chopper 2 shot this video. you can see the cab was pushed away from the tracks. incredibly there are no reports of injuries. trains have been single tracking around the seen since the accident and that led to delays of 50 minutes. president obama offered his resignation today saying his age stripped him of the strength needed to continue. >> he surprised the world by announcing he will step down february 28. he read his statement today in latin. this is the first time a pope resigned in 600 years. the big question, who will take his place? ktvu's allie rasmus is live in
